Severiano Martinez (Oakland, CA) and Mario Diaz de Leon (NYC) work in the composition and performance of electronic and instrumental music, in notated and improvised forms. Following six years of acquaintance, they recorded their first album, Still Point, in June 2006. Using analog synthesizers, a Cocolase delay system by Ciat-Lonbarde, electric guitar, and voice, their music is a blend of improvisation and songwriting. Still Point is a first generation ‘noise age’ album, based on an imagined trek through mythological timescapes (Haze of the High Plains) and meditation temples (The Cave at Patmos, Hall of Hearts) influenced by sources such as Nino Rota’s score to Fellini’s Satyricon, Fripp and Eno’s Evening Star, The Cure's Faith, and Karlheinz Stockhausen’s Oktophonie.
